Wantaway Roma forward Justin Kluivert has agreed to join Fulham, according to Foot Mercato.
Fulham still have a way to go in negotiating the terms of the transfer with the Italian club, but the player has agreed to join them if they can find an agreement.
Despite being open to the departure of the out-of-favour attacker, Roma have already rejected a bid from Fulham.
The Cottagers had offered to take the Netherlands international on loan with an option to buy for €12 million, which would become mandatory if they avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The Giallorossi are open to a loan with a buy option or a permanent move but deemed the initial offer insufficient.
However, negotiations are ongoing between both clubs to find an agreement.
Kluivert progressed through the youth ranks at Ajax and was a highly rated prospect before moving to Roma in 2018, but has since fallen out of favour in Rome and spent the last two seasons on loan at RB Leipzig and Ligue 1 side OGC Nice.
The 23-year-old has been frozen out by manager Jose Mourinho, who has made it clear the player is not in his plans for the season.
Mourinho excluded him from Roma’s pre-season training camp and forced the Dutchman to train alone while negotiations over his future continue.
Fulham are short on wide attackers, having sold Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool this summer.
Anthony Knockaert and Ivan Cavaleiro have fallen out of favour with the manager, while Harry Wilson and new loan signing Manor Solomon are sidelined with injuries.
Marco Silva wants to add a new winger to reinforce his side before the window closes at the end of the month and is close to signing the former Ajax prodigy.
Roma wants to move Kluivert on and free up their wage bill so they can finalise the transfer of Torino striker Andrea Belotti, who has already agreed to join the Giallorossi on a three-year contract.
