Nico & Iñaki Williams injury updates before Athletic Club’s clash with Getafe | OneFootball

Updates on the wellbeing of Athletic Club pair Nico and Iñaki Williams have on Tuesday come to the fore online.

And the news does not bode well when it comes to the status of the two attackers for Athletic’s upcoming meeting with Getafe.

Both Nico and Iñaki Williams were forced to sit out over the weekend, as Ernesto Valverde’s troops battled to a hard-fought victory over Deportivo Alavés.

This came owing to respective muscular injuries.

And as confirmed by Mundo Deportivo, upon Athletic’s stars returning to training on Tuesday morning, both players remained notable absentees.

The Williams brothers are therefore considered major doubts to feature against Getafe in two days’ time.

Elsewhere at Lezama, Beñat Prados was put through an individualised training session, still suffering with the after effects of an impact injury suffered against Manchester United last week.

Unai Nuñez also missed out owing to a cold, but is expected to be cleared to play his part at the Estadio Coliseum on Thursday.
