Just in: Barcelona reach complete agreement with Man City forward

Barcelona are in a race against time to get their rebuild through with the best players possible from across the continent. While the midfield is as sorted as it can be, the defence and the attack lack rather severely.

In fact, playing without a proper striker has come to bite Barcelona, practically crashing them out of the Champions League. Thus, it is not surprising to see the garnet and blue linked with elite forwards from elite teams. And it seems they have pulled in a big gun.

Marca report that Barça have reached a total agreement on personal terms with Manchester City winger Ferran Torres.

Barcelona’s Director of Football, Mateu Alemany, was reportedly in Manchester today to finalise the signing of Raheem Sterling. The Englishman, however, acted as a smoke-screen while Alemany negotiated for Torres.

While the two of the three parties involved have come to the finalisation of terms, the third – Man City – are not there yet. The English side want a better economic offer from the Catalan giants, which may cause some sirens to go off in the Camp Nou offices.

The signing of Jack Grealish, coupled with Phil Foden’s incredible form, have resulted in Torres sitting on the bench too often. He’s only played four games in the Premier League, scoring two goals and setting up one.

A loan deal for the winger, who can play as a centre-forward, might be what Barça are looking for in the short-term, but eventually they will have to focus on the signing of a proper no. 9. Exciting times ahead for the Barcelona faithful.
