Junior Olaitan is already a "number 10" in Turkey

Junior Olaitan didn’t need much time to make an impression. Since joining Göztepe last July, the Cheetah from Benin has quickly become a talking point in Turkey.

In just three Süper Lig matchdays, Ishola Junior Olaitan has emerged as Göztepe’s breakout star. Signed this summer from Grenoble (French Ligue 2), the 23-year-old Beninese attacking midfielder has swiftly won over his teammates and fans alike. After a 3-0 win over Çaykur Rizespor, a goalless draw with José Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe, and a 2-0 victory away at Fatih Karagümrük, the former Ayéma FC player is now seen as a key architect of the Turkish club’s strong start to the season.

Starting all three games, Olaitan has racked up 221 minutes of play. Wearing the number 10 shirt, he’s impressed with his vision, technical quality, and attacking efficiency. Against Fatih Karagümrük, he even netted his first goal in his new colours.

Under contract until 2029, the Beninese midfielder looks destined for a bright future. In just three matches, he’s already won over Turkish fans and could well become one of the faces of the Süper Lig in the seasons to come.
