Less than 24 hours after Rafael Camacho made his senior debut against Wolves, many reports surfaced that stated Sporting Lisbon, Camacho’s boyhood club, could take the 18-year-old on loan for the rest of the season.

However, according to Portuguese outlet Record, that will not be happening.

According to the report, after Sporting representatives met with Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp on Wednesday, Klopp stated that Camacho will likely be used during the second half of the season.

Camacho spent 2008 to 2013 in the Sporting academy before leaving to sign for Manchester City. He then joined Liverpool in the summer of 2016 on a four-year deal.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold being rested and Nathaniel Clyne joining Bournemouth on loan for the rest of the season, Camacho made the start out-of-position at right-back.

With the Liverpool U-23s this season, deployed mainly as a winger and as a number 10, Camacho has scored seven goals and added eight assists in 15 matches.
