Jude Bellingham’s father held discussions with Real Madrid | OneFootball

Jude Bellingham’s father, Mark Bellingham, held talks with Real Madrid transfer bosses earlier this week to discuss a possible move to the club, SportBild cites French outlet Mercato Foot.

Before Borussia Dortmund’s second-leg tie against Chelsea on Tuesday, Bellingham’s father met with Juni Calafat, Real’s transfer boss, at a hotel in London.

As reported, Mark and the Madrid top brass held discussions regarding a possible transfer this summer. Bild reports that the England international is leaning towards a move to Spain rather than Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League.

However, a deal is far from complete. Dortmund will demand around €150m for the 19-year-old. What’s more, the club have not yet given up on getting Bellingham to stay for one more season. BVB will reportedly offer the Englishman a heavy increase in his contract, taking his annual yearly pay to €15m.

Real’s finances will also come into play here. Already stretched, it’s believed that the club would have to remove their highest earner, Luka Modrić, from their payroll in order to have the funds to pay Bellingham.
