Jude Bellingham has vowed to return to his scintillating best, when he addressed the media for the first time since his formal presentation.

Bellingham has been subject to criticism in recent weeks after failing to find the back of the net on a consistent basis like he did when he first joined the club. Injuries and being asked to play in various roles have clearly affected his attacking output.

The Englishman was sidelined for multiple games after picking up an injury against Girona and was suspended not long after his return against Valencia, which saw him watch on from the sidelines yet again. The midfielder has also been asked to play in various roles and in recent weeks this has seen him deployed slightly deeper, which reduces the chance of him finding himself in goalscoring positions.

The England international has admitted that he is hungry for more goals and success at Madrid and believes that he can handle criticism from journalists.

He said: “I don’t care about criticism, I have to react on the pitch. I didn’t expect to score so many goals, and of course now I want to score more and more.”
