Real Madrid will clash heads with Union Berlin at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on Tuesday night as they try to collect maximum points on the road in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Betis recently, so they would be keen on returning to winning ways this week.

Carlo Ancelotti will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a lot of changes to his starting XI for this game. Joselu is expected to lead the line for the Madrid giants in the final third.

Andriy Lunin will play in goal for Los Blancos as he looks to earn a clean sheet on the road. David Alaba could play alongside Nacho at the centre of Ancelotti’s defence as they try to keep the home team frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.

Lucas Vazquez could keep his spot at right-back while Fran Garcia gets a chance to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack when they can.

Nico Paz and Dani Ceballos will assume the duties of the holding midfielders as they try to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Jude Bellingham, Luka Modric and Brahim Diaz could get a chance to play just ahead of them as part of Ancelotti’s attack. All three of them need to move the ball well if they want to create enough chances for Real Madrid to win this contest.

Toni Kroos will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Ancelotti opts to call upon his services.

Attack

Joselu will spearhead Los Blancos’ attack on his own up top. He has to find a way to cause some problems for the opposition defenders during the game.
