Mourinho’s iconic quotes are almost as legendary as the man himself, he has a way with words that not many managers can stack up against.

But after a particularly rough game for the Portuguese saw his Chelsea side lose 3-1 at the hands of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, there was very little the manager wanted to discuss.

Despite Ramires getting Chelsea off to a bright start by scoring in the fourth minute, a second-half brace from Philippe Coutinho and a late strike from Christian Benteke saw Klopp’s side bury the Blues.

The defeat piled more pressure on Mourinho as his side had lost to West Ham the weekend before, and were booted out of the EFL Cup by Stoke City in the week leading up to the game.

The loss was Mourinho’s sixth of the season, the highest amount of defeats he had experienced during a Premier League campaign with Chelsea at the time.

But for Liverpool it was a momentous occasion, the game was Jurgen Klopp’s first-ever Premier League win as the Reds manager. The victory was perhaps a foreshadowing of what Klopp would go on to achieve at the club.

After the game, Klopp expressed his sympathy for the Blues manager: “I feel for him. He’s a great coach. I don’t think anyone in this room doubts he’s one of the best in the world.“Things like this happen. I had a similar situation at Dortmund last year. The good thing was no one in the club was in doubt of my situation. I feel for him of course, but it’s work.”

But it was Mourinho’s post-match interview that was particularly interesting and perhaps proved that, despite his claims, the 59-year-old was feeling the pressure.

He was clearly in no mood to discuss the details of the evening’s events with interviewer Des Kelly.

The Chelsea manager is famous for his iconic “I prefer not to speak” quote, but on this occasion, he truly did prefer not to speak.

The interview begins with Des Kelly stating: “Jose, a 3-1 defeat after a fabulous start, the game just got away from you there.”

Mourinho responds with a phrase he went on to repeat several times throughout the video: “I have nothing to say.”

Kelly responds: “Nothing to say about the game at all?”Mourinho simply repeats: “Nothing, nothing, I have nothing to say.”

Kelly then repeatedly attempts to extract more words from the angry Portuguese, asking him about several situations from the match but his response remained the same.

Eventually, the interviewer asks Mourinho about the Chelsea fans which finally sparks a variation in response from the manager. Kelly asks: “Do you not think it’s time to have a chat to the fans? Just to give them some message, some indication of your thinking. We heard them chanting your name.”

Mourinho bluntly replies: “The fans are not stupid.” But he fails to elaborate any further on what he means by that.

And the blunt responses continue as the awkward interview drags on, Kelly reminds Mourinho: “You did say before this game that you weren’t worried, are you a little bit more worried now?”.

The manager simply replies “No.” before asking Kelly to clarify exactly what he means by the question.Kelly responds: “Your future, your own position at the club, the backing of the board?”.But once again Mourinho offers up a one-word answer: “No.”

Kelly then asks several more questions in a final attempt to get the manager talking.“Nothing about the game at all?”“No individual performance you’d like to pick out?”“Nothing about the performance going ahead?”“Nothing about the way we could fix it?”

We’ll start with an easy one. Did Jose Mourinho really say this? “I’m European champion. I’m not one out of the bottle, I think I’m a special one”

Yes No

But after receiving minimal responses to all of his questions, Kelly finally admits defeat, thanks the manager for his time and allows him to leave.
