Jose Mourinho was on Sky Sports’ panel for Manchester City’s trip to Anfield and he believes the Reds will win the Premier League title.

When Fabinho’s 5th-minute rocket tore into Claudio Bravo’s near post, Jurgen Klopp and his brilliant players seized the opportunity in front of them by playing with an intensity that only they can.

The following seven minutes were a blur of pressing, tackling and pure heart as the Reds countered Manchester City’s high press by going long which worked perfectly as Trent Alexander-Arnold found a bombarding Andy Robertson.

As Liverpudlians have grown to expect, the Scotsman delivered an inch-perfect cross to an onside Mohamed Salah, whose stooping header found the back of the net to make it 2-0 with just 13 minutes gone.

Speaking live on Sky Sports, Mourinho said: “If you are behind [in the title race], you have to feel like you can reach them. If you are top of the league with a big advantage, you have to feel like it is not over.

“But I am not there, I’m here. And here, from my position, I think it’s done unless something dramatic happens in terms of an injury situation that breaks the team.

“But I think the team is a complete puzzle. I feel the way they play is adapted to the qualities of the players. City are capable of winning seven, eight, nine matches in a row, but I can’t see how Liverpool can lose this advantage of nine points to them.”

Sadio Mane scored the third goal of the game with a fine header in the 51st minute after Jordan Henderson delivered a Kevin De Bruyne-esque ball into the box for the Senegal forward.

Liverpool have now earned 34 points from a possible 36, with Manchester United the only side to take points off Jurgen Klopp’s rampant Reds.
