La Liga outfit Valencia have today announced the club’s 2nd high-profile summer signing.
The latest player to have put pen to paper on terms with Los Che? Rafa Mir.
Frontman Mir, of course, has been linked with a move back to the Mestalla for almost a full year now, since Valencia first set their sights on the club’s youth product back in the summer of 2023.
The transfer finally looked set to be pushed over the line in January, only for a last-minute hiccup to see negotiations with Sevilla collapse.
As alluded to above, though, this time round, at long last, the Valencia brass have done enough to close the transfer.
This comes following a direct request on the part of head coach José Bordalás.
As per a statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:
‘Valencia CF has reached an agreement with Sevilla FC for the signing of striker Rafa Mir.
‘The striker, who was trained at the VCF Academy until the 2016-17 season, arrives on loan until the end of the season with a purchase option.’
Mir’s arrival marks the 2nd of the summer to date at Valencia, following that of goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski from Rayo Vallecano.
