Rayan, for his part, is a versatile 18-year-old attacker, who has long been considered one of the standout young talents in his home country of Brazil.

Such talents proved enough to earn the Vasco starlet a place on the wishlist of the aforementioned Barcelona, with Deco and his transfer team having long been keeping a close eye on Rayan’s development.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a blow to those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou to hear of the Brazilian U20 international preparing to head elsewhere.

As per a report from Diario Sport, amongst a host of other sources:

‘Rayan, the pearl of Vasco da Gama that Deco likes very much, is preparing for a change of scenery, with Olympique Lyon.’

OL are understood to have tabled a proposal worth €14 million for Rayan, with negotiations with Vasco da Gama progressing quickly towards an agreement.
