Last night Sevilla were defeated 1-0 in the 12th round of La Liga by Rayo Vallecano at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

In his post-match interview that appeared on Marca, Jorge Sampaoli evaluated the team’s disappointing performance:

“It was a match that the team did not play well. We lost many balls at the start of the game. The opposition took advantage of that and created many transitions of play. That made us run backwards on many occasions, especially in the first half.”

The Argentine coach believes that his team need to recover quickly:

“We have to work to improve without much time to do it. Today (Yesterday) we took a step backwards because the team was imprecise, disconnected in several facets of the game. The accumulation of matches makes the performance drop, we have to evaluate a lot of things.”

“Nothing can be achieved in an anarchic way,” he added.
