Jordi Alba felt Barcelona were in complete control during their 4-0 win at Real Mallorca on Saturday.
Arturo Vidal settled any nerves by giving the visitors the lead in the second minute, and Martin Braithwaite, Alba, and Lionel Messi also hit the net to give the Blaugrana the perfect restart to the LaLiga season.
Alba, who also provided the assist for Vidal’s opener, was delighted with how Barça performed after the enforced break due to the Covid-19 shutdown.
“We controlled the game,” the left-back said (via Marca).
“After three months without playing, we had a great game. The team came out well. To have scored in the first minute was good, it gives confidence.
“Real Mallorca can make things difficult, so a goal at the very start helps.
“Now we have 10 LaLiga finals and we are very motivated.”
The victory saw the Catalans open up a five-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table, but Zinedine Zidane’s men have the chance to close the gap when they host Eibar on Sunday.
