What Lionel Messi once had with Dani Alves, he appears to have discovered with Jordi Alba.
The pair of left-footed La Masia products have developed something like a telepathic understanding in recent years and it was on display again on Thursday.
Barcelona needed to avoid defeat or a high-scoring draw to progress in the second leg of their Copa del Rey round of 16 tie against Celta Vigo after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
And Alba and Messi combined three times in the first half to effectively put the tie to bed.
The first two goals came from similar moves within a space of three minutes, with Messi meeting Alba passes from the left with clinical first-time finishes.
And the Argentine returned the favour to his left-back in the 28th minute with a spectacularly-timed pass for Alba to prod home.
Luis Suárez then added a fourth to really kill of any hope of a come-back and send Barça well on their way.
Coutinho’s reaction to Barça’s third goal pretty much says it all.
