Jordan Henderson has completed his permanent transfer to Ajax, ending his six-month stint with Al Ettifaq.

The 33-year-old midfielder has signed a two and a half year contract with the Dutch giants, which will keep him in Amsterdam until 2026.

The England international controversially left Liverpool to move to the Saudi Arabia Pro League side last summer, but despite being managed by another former Reds captain and friend, Steven Gerrard, he has decided to leave.

Henderson made just 17 appearances for Ettifaq, providing four assists and zero goals, as the side fell down the league standings.

His new club have experienced similar struggles, with the record Eredivisie champions currently sitting 23 points off runaway leaders PSV and 11 points off Feyenoord and the second Champions League spot.

Henderson will be hoping to make his Ajax debut this Sunday when they face off against RKC Waalwijk.
