Joe Hart (36) has announced that he will retire at the end of the season. The decision was announced in a video shared on Celtic’s social channels.

Over the course of a glistening career, which saw him represent the England national team on 75 occasions, Hart had played 690 games at club level. He recently informed current club Celtic that this season would be his last at the club, and he has now publicly confirmed his retirement from the professional game.

Hart was a mainstay in the Three Lions set-up in the 2010s and was part of the squad for the 2010 and 2014 World Cup, as well as the EURO 2012 and 2016 campaigns. However, he lost his spot as Manchester City’s No.1 following the arrival of Pep Guardiola and soon after he then lost his place in the England set-up. His last cap came in 2017.

The England goalkeeper has finished his career on a high in the Scottish Premier League, winning the domestic treble last season. This season, Celtic are in a close battle with Rangers for the title.
