Xolos star Joaquín Montecinos admitted last week that he was offered the opportunity to join Club América last season but decided to allow his loan spell in Tijuana to continue.

Even though it’s highly likely that Xolos will pick up the Chile international’s purchase option, he could be sold immediately in order to make a profit.

According to Récord journalist Víctor Díaz, the 26-year-old turned the heads of the Eagles hierarchy once again during América’s 3-1 win over the weekend.

Montecinos scored on Tijuana’s only shot on target during the game and delivered a powerful performance on an otherwise relatively lifeless Xolos side.

Considering the Eagles are in desperate need for an electric player on the wing, Montecinos could potentially be the perfect player to arrive this summer.
