Jérémy Ménez was one of the most famous Club América signings in recent years but turned out to be one of the most disappointing.
He was signed for a very small fee and showed sparks of his former talent but spent most of his time injured on the sidelines.
Ménez now plays in the second division of Italy with Reggina and says that he is doing well. In a recent interview, the Frenchman confessed why he is now better than ever.
“I slept for three years, then Reggina woke me up. I rediscovered the urge to sweat and work hard.
“In Mexico and Turkey, I did not have a well-furnished head, I wanted to go back to my family.
“Have you seen Zlatan (39 years old)? I’m fine, I can play in Serie A. I want to be a protagonist again.”
Though he won three trophies with América, he was not much of a factor in doing so.
