Jean-Clair Todibo must’ve had something else planned for Sunday afternoon as his appearance for Nice against Angers in their Ligue 1 clash lasted just …nine seconds.
The former Barcelona defender received his marching orders before the majority of the crowd had even taken their seats, seeing red after pulling down an Angers attacker as he was racing through on goal from kick-off.
The 22-year-old was sent for the earliest of early baths in what will have been one of the fastest red cards given in the professional game, with the incident considered the fastest in Ligue 1 in the 21st century.
Andorra forward Ricard Fernández Betriu was sent off after just 21 seconds during their World Cup qualifier with Portugal in 2021 after elbowing an opponent.
