Al Fayha made an early move in the summer transfer window by signing Spanish winger Jason Remeseiro.
The former Levante, Valenica, Getafe and Alaves wideman joins the Roshn Saudi League from Arouca in Portugal’s Primeira Liga and will look to help his new club improve upon last season’s 13th-placed finish in the top flight.
But before he gets down to the serious business of competing in the 2025-26 RSL, Remeseiro spoke to Al Fayha’s in-house media to explain his decision to make the move east.
Here’s some of what the exciting new addition said…
“I believe this was a very good opportunity to come to the Saudi league. It's a league that's growing a lot, with very important players arriving, and that gives it a lot of value, making foreign players interested in coming to this very competitive league.
“We're already seeing this at the [FIFA] Club World Cup, and what Saudi teams are doing there. That's why I also believe it's a very important step in my career, and I'm really looking forward to starting here.”
“I've had former teammates who are now competing in this league, and they spoke very highly of it. That also helped me make the decision to come here. I think coming to the Saudi league and competing here opens many doors.”
“Ultimately, I think it makes the league much more competitive and gives it much more value. It gains significant importance when players like Cristiano Ronaldo started coming here.
“He sort of initiated the arrival of good players to the league, to compete in these teams. And in the end, you can see that the league is very competitive, with very good teams and good players.”

“Yes, ultimately, I also want to learn more about the country. As I said before, I spoke with former teammates like Alvaro Medran, who plays for Al Taawoun. I talked to him, and he told me that if I had the opportunity to come here, I should take it.
“Also, Faycal Fajr, who was also my teammate at Getafe, was a player whom I asked about the league's quality, the level, and the experience of living here. They all spoke very highly of the country. So, these are also things that help you make what I believe is a very positive decision.”
“I think these are also life experiences. The first time I left Spain for Portugal, it felt a bit strange because I was used to only being in Spain. But I believe getting to know other countries gives you different experiences.
“You meet people, you learn about cultures different from your own, and it also enriches you as a person to experience other cultures, other languages, other cities. I believe that ultimately helps you a lot in the future, too.”
“Well, I hope they support us from the beginning of the league; that external support is always important. Ultimately, we have to perform on the pitch. And with their help, everything will be much easier.”
