At 1-0 up at half-time, Spain looked to be in total control of Japan as they completed 530 passes as opposed to just 89 for their opponents.
But Japan had other ideas after the break as they sprung into action, boss Hajime Moriyasu making full use of his substitutes to get his side back into the game.
