Real Madrid could have James Rodríguez back at their disposal earlier than expected after he stepped up his recovery from a knee problem.
The Colombian was ruled out of action last month for at least three weeks and there were initial concerns he could even miss the rest of 2019.
On Monday, James worked out individually with the medical team at Valdebebas as he pushes for full fitness as quickly as possible.
Goal report that he is hoping to receive the all-clear from the club’s doctors next week.
That would allow him to return to full training with his team-mates and put himself back in Zinedine Zidane’s plans.
It is also not being ruled out at the moment that the former Bayern Munich man returns in time to play a part in the Clásico against Barcelona.
That takes place next midweek after being rescheduled due to the political situation in Catalonia.
James hasn’t featured for Real since mid-October, when he took part in the defeat to Mallorca.
