James Pearce reveals Liverpool’s big transfer priority this summer

Liverpool’s priority this summer transfer window is to bring in another midfielder before the market is shut for business but more funds will need to be freed up first by the sale of fringe players, according to James Pearce.
The Reds will be eager to get back to challenging for the Premier League and Champions League titles after falling short last season thanks to a few injury problems to say the least.
Deficiencies in the squad were highlighted by the campaign and with Gini Wijnaldum now leaving, a new midfielder is indeed a priority this summer, though James Pearce has reiterated via the Athletic on YouTube that outgoings need to happen first:

This is a well worn line this summer now, that Liverpool need to sell players to buy.
The season is a few weeks away now, though, and no sales have happened so you have to think if it’s going to start happening it’s going to be soon.
