Stiften.dk are reporting that Jack Wilshere has agreed a deal to join the side currently 7th in the Danish top division ‘with immediate effect’ after passing his medical on Sunday.
The deal will run until the end of the season with an option for an additional year if all goes to plan.
Wilshere will wear the number 10 shirt.
Just last week, Serie B side Como confirmed they were still trying to find a way to sign up Jack Wilshere, but his non-EU status was creating major complications.
Como Councillor of Sports Paolo Annoni posted a Facebook update on Thursday, following a meeting with the club’s General Manager Carlalberto Ludi.
“He [Ludi] revealed some interesting news,” Annoni wrote, “including a new signing who is more than just a target: Jack Wilshere, a former Arsenal player.”
The major problem is that post-Brexit, Wilshere is no longer an EU player, which is a requirement for Serie B players.
Reports from TuttoMercatoWeb (via Football Italia) suggest Como were looking at ways to change Wilshere’s status somehow, and Annoni’s comments certainly made it sound like they hadn’t ruled the possibility out.
Unfortunately, Como aren’t close to the promotion places, so Wilshere couldn’t just wait it out until they make it to Serie A and it seems like he has now found another option.
Speaking to talkSPORT recently, Jack Wilshere didn’t deny that he’d love to play for Arsenal again. But he explained that it wasn’t his decision, even if he believes that he’s keeping up with the squad in training.
“I would love it to be Arsenal,” Wilshere said, on the subject of his next club.
“But I’m not in control of that.
“[I’m not playing for Arsenal] because the manager doesn’t want me to. I don’t think he does.
“[But] I wouldn’t have went to Dubai if I was bringing training down, bringing the quality down, weren’t keeping up.”
Wilshere hasn’t had much luck finding a new team just yet, despite his work in training and the efforts of his representatives.
L’Equipe report that Jack Wilshere and his representatives are still hard at work searching for a new club, and his agents offered him to Lille on a short-term basis during the January transfer window.
The offer even included a trial period, so Wilshere could prove himself before his potential new club committed to a contract.
Unfortunately for Wilshere, Lille decided to sign Hatem Ben Arfa, which took the possibility off the table.
