Jack Grealish has a release clause of €50m after signing a new deal with Aston Villa, according to The Times.
The midfielder had been a target for Tottenham during the summer though Spurs would now have to part with an eye-watering amount to land the 23-year-old if they decided to return with a January bid.
Villa persuaded Grealish to agree fresh terms with his wages increasing to to £45,000 a week as they look for a return to the Premier League.
The Midlands club rejected an offer of €30m from Spurs in the summer following Nassef Sawiris and Wes Eden’s takeover at Villa Park.
Grealish has made six appearances for Steve Bruce’s side but is yet to score.
