Amid a lack of offers closer to home, the England striker could be heading to Saudi Arabia

Brentford have put a £50million price tag on Ivan Toney, as Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli weigh up an increased bid for the England striker.

Al-Ahli had an opening offer for Toney in the region of £35m rejected by the Bees.

But Brentford hope to strike a deal before the end of the transfer window to sell Toney, who is in the final year of his contract.

The 28-year-old had hoped to secure a move to a big Premier League club this summer but, having been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham and Manchester United, nothing has materialised despite his impressive cameos for England at Euro 2024.

Toney was left out of the Brentford squad for their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.

But he is still training with them as the club wait for Al-Ahli or another club to get closer to their valuation.

Should a deal to sell Toney to Saudi Arabia be finalised, Brentford would not actively seek a replacement.

Igor Thiago was signed for £30m over the week and, while he could miss the rest of the year with a knee injury, the Bees have Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa, Kevin Schade and new £27.5m signing Fabio Carvalho to play in forward positions.
