'It's ridiculous': Jurgen Klopp remains in AWE of what 'brilliant' Liverpool player can do

Jurgen Klopp has labelled one of his Liverpool players ‘ridiculous’ for what he’s capable of. Trent Alexander-Arnold remains one of a kind.

Jurgen Klopp has been talking about Liverpool in an interview with ESPN. The German stepped aside as the Reds' manager earlier this year, of course, and has remained pretty much silent on the club since.

In his latest interview, though, Klopp has been vocal on Liverpool. He talked up Arne Slot, for one, and made it clear just how impressed he is with Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Klopp and Alexander-Arnold will forever be linked in football. The former gave the Scouser his big break and developed him into one of the most effective attacking players on the planet.

And arguably the best attacking full-back we've ever seen. Klopp remains in awe of the player, too, and he raved about Alexander-Arnold in his interview with ESPN.

Jurgen Klopp on Trent Alexander-Arnold

"His right foot is ridiculous. It's ridiculous," said Klopp. "I mean, I enjoy highlight reels, sometimes more, sometimes less. A Trent Alexander-Arnold highlight video is insane because you don't need the goals. It's just the passes. You just watch the passes and think 'how is that possible?!'.

"I could pass the ball myself, but not like that.

"I remember Trent was a brilliant kid but physically not ready, so we always had to take him off after 60 minutes. But he developed in that department obviously as well."

Alexander-Arnold is, of course, one of the biggest stories of the season for Liverpool. His contract expires next summer and there's remarkably little talk around a new one - he can agree a free transfer somewhere else in just a few short months.

His fantastic performance against Ipswich Town only highlighted the need to tie him down for longer. Alexander-Arnold remains one of the most important players for Liverpool and one they absolutely cannot afford to lose.
