Stade Rennais midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud (30) has verbally committed his long-term future to the club, following his 300th game in the colours of Les Rouge et noirs.

Speaking to Canal Plus following Rennes impressive 2-0 victory over Olympique de Marseille on Sunday in which he scored a second-half penalty to seal the three points, the Frenchman was emotional over the fans tribute to him in light of his 300th game, a huge banner that read “YOU ARRIVED ONE SUMMER FOR THE REBIRTH OF STADE RENNAIS, 300 MATCHES LATER, YOU’RE A LEGEND”:

” Yes, I’ll be here for life. I’m having an exceptional career here. It has been 7 years and I still have the same emotions. I am really honoured to be part of this club’s adventure”.

Bourigeaud has seven goals and four assists in 24 Ligue 1 appearances for Julien Stéphan’s  Rennes side this season and a total of 49 goals and 46 assists in 232 league games since he joined the club in 2017. Rennes currently sit 8th in Ligue 1, four points off the European places and with a Coupe de France semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain to look forward to. With his contract running until 2026, the 30 year old will have plenty of fun in Brittany yet.
