The performance was so poor that Milan players were booed by their fans after the final whistle.

DAZN pundit Luca Toni, a former Juventus striker and a 1006 Italy World Cup winner, shared the fans’ disappointment and explained why Rossoneri supporters were furious after the final whistle.

Luca Toni celebrates after a goal with Italy national team in 2006.

“We expected something more from these two teams, but I think Juventus played their game and defended well. Honestly, I expected more from Milan,” Toni said.

“It was an important match for them, but now they are too far away from the top of the table. There are many teams up there. I think Rossoneri fans are embittered because they didn’t see the team doing all they could until the end to win the match.”

After 12 matches, Paulo Fonseca’s Milan are nine points below Serie A leaders Inter and Atalanta. Even if the Rossoneri have a game in hand, this is still a worrying gap, as six teams are currently ahead of them in the rankings.

Milan’s next Serie A game is against Empoli at the Stadio Meazza on Saturday, November 30.

Before their next Serie A fixture, the Rossoneri visit Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League Round 5.
