Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco feels that there’s “nothing in the world” like clinching the Serie A title in the derby.

The 26-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN as he and his teammate celebrated the win over AC Milan and with it the title, via FCInterNews.

Now it’s official. Inter are Serie A champions for the 2023-24 season.

The Nerazzurri had previously won the title in the 2020-21 campaign.

The last couple seasons have seen the team fail to win the title. They lost in heartbreaking fashion on the last day of the season in 2021-22 – and then last season were miles behind Napoli.

But now, Inter have won their twentieth title. And with it, they can now sew the second star above the crests on their shirts.

A 2-1 win against Milan in a fiery derby was enough to make sure of that.

There were three red cards in what proved to be a dramatic conclusion to the evening.

But when referee Alessandro Colombo blew his final whistle, the Inter players and staff came streaming onto the pitch to celebrate not just the derby win, but the title.

Dimarco: “Nothing In The World” Like Clinching Serie A Title Vs AC Milan

Inter wingback Dimarco was asked who among his teammates he has special thanks for.

“I don’t have a soft spot for anyone in particular,” he replied. “This belongs to the entire group.”

“We have to congratulate everyone who works for this, day and night.”

“I’m still struggling to really have it sink in,” Dimarco said of winning the title.

“We’re champions of Italy. There are few words that can describe this feeling.”

Of clinching it against Milan, Dimarco said “I don’t think anything in the world could be more beautiful.”

“But on the other hand, it would have also been the same for them,” he continued.

“For us as Interisti, this is a day we’ll carry in our hearts until the end,” he added.

“We won the derby away from home, and we’re Italian champions.”
