italian journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that Inter still haven’t really addressed their underlying financial problems, particularly their debt, by making sales of striker Andrea Pinamonti and midfielder Cesare Casadei.

Writing in his column for Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, Sconcerti gave his thoughts on the Nerazzurri’s choice to cash in on these two younger players and noted that even with the not-inconsiderable fees for the both of them, they are still nowhere close to fixing the underlying debt issues.

Inter look set to get some way towards their financial targets for the summer by selling Pinamonti and Casadei, even if the fees received for the duo would not be enough on their own to reach the full amount sought without a sale of a higher-value player from the squad.

Sconcerti thinks that as long as the debt problems remain unaddressed, that sales of this nature are only making a dent in the problem and not really fixing it.

“Casadei will return as a complete player,” he predicts, “as will Scamacca, perhaps even Insigne and Bernardeschi. We are increasingly a country for old people, but I can’t be the one complaining about it given my age.”

He goes on that “What I’m wondering is whether Inter’s path is clear now. I don’t turn into Marotta, who knows these things well. But Casadei and Pinamonti’s money doesn’t fix the debt, there’s nothing that suddenly takes away Inter’s needs.”

“They have to continue to fix up problems without really solving them,” he suggests.
