Real Madrid have been handed a boost with Isco confirming he is close to a comeback.
The 26-year-old had been sidelined after having surgery for acute appendicitis and missed his side’s last three matches in which they have failed to score.
However, on Wednesday, the playmaker took to social media to tell fans he is nearing a return.
“They took my stitches out today, can’t wait to get back playing!” he said on Instagram on Wednesday.
Without him, Real have not managed to net a single goal; they were well beaten 3-0 by Sevilla and held against rivals Atlético in LaLiga before losing 1-0 at CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.
The drought is the club’s worst in more than 11 years and coach Julen Lopetegui will no doubt be buoyed by Isco’s return.
Next up for Los Blancos is a trip to Deportivo Alavés which will likely come too soon for the number 22.
