Ipswich Town may need to find a replacement for Omari Hutchinson in the summer, as they aim for promotion to the Premier League.

The Jamaica international is currently on loan with the Tractor Boys, after joining the club from Chelsea in the summer. Ipswich were a newly promoted side at the time, so few would have expected them to be fighting for promotion with just three games left to play in the campaign.

Hutchinson has been an important player for the side so far. He has played 41 times in the Championship, although the majority of them have been coming off the bench as an impact sub.

Despite this, his goal and assist return have been impressive. The Jamaican has contributed seven goals and six assists in the league, while being deployed all across the front three, as needed.

He has been crucial to their success this season, but the Tractor Boys will need to find a replacement for Hutchinson when his loan deal expires in the summer.

Jaden Philogene would be the ideal Hutchinson replacement according to the stats

If Hutchinson does leave the club in the summer as expected, Hull City's Jaden Philogene would be the perfect man to replace him in the Ipswich side.

Philogene is the most similar player to Hutchinson in-terms of statistical profile and would be the ideal replacement for the forward, according to FBRef.

Both have scored goals and added assists this season, and been a key focal point in the Hull and Ipswich attacks, respectively.

They both have impressed with the number of impressive carries they made (130 vs 139), with similar expected assists per 90 mins, although Philogene's expected goals stat is higher than his Ipswich counterpart.

While they are similar, it is clear that Philogene has been the better player of the two so far.

He has scored more than his Ipswich counterpart, completing more passes per 90mins, more shots on target and more attempted shots.

Both men can play in any position across the front three, making them a versatile option for Ipswich.

However, Philogene would be a costly addition, and as such would likely be used as a regular starter, whereas Hutchinson has been mainly a substitute for the bulk of the season.

A transfer is unlikely, with big clubs interested in his signature

Despite being almost perfect as a replacement for Hutchinson, it seems very unlikely that Philogene will be making the move to Portman Road in the summer.

While the Tractor Boys do have a fantastic chance to play in the Premier League next year, a number of much bigger clubs are being linked with a move for the Hull winger.

We also cannot forget Aston Villa.

The forward's former club have a £20 million buyback option if the Tigers win promotion. While this looks unlikely to activate, it does show their interest in the forward and could battle for his signature once this current campaign concludes.

With Spurs and Villa battling for the Champions League, it is unlikely that he would choose a newly-promoted Ipswich over them.

Palace also look like an inviting option, with the recent signing of Adam Wharton showing their ability to give minutes to Championship signings.

It is clear that Philogene is the perfect replacement for Hutchinson in-terms of the data, but one that the Tractor Boys will likely be unable to complete.
