Ipswich Town have received a number of loan offers from Championship sides for Ali Al-Hamadi this summer.

According to The Athletic, the Tractor Boys are yet to agree to a deal due to nobody meeting their valuation of the forward.

The Iraq international signed for the Premier League side back in January, when they were competing for promotion to the top flight.

The 22-year-old made 14 appearances in the Championship, including one start, and scored four times (all stats from Fbref).

He also featured in their opening league fixture of the new campaign, coming off the bench in the closing stages of their 2-0 loss to Liverpool on Saturday.

Ipswich are only willing to sanction Al-Hamadi’s departure if they feel the right offer has been made.

The Tractor Boys are hoping that the forward can play a role in Kieran McKenna’s side this season, meaning they will need to be enticed into a loan move.

A guarantee over game time is likely to persuade Ipswich, as they will want to see the player develop by picking up regular experience at a high level this year.

But it will also not come cheap, as he could also play an important role in helping Ipswich maintain their place in the Premier League beyond one year.

It remains to be seen which clubs are after the signature of the striker, with multiple suitors mentioned as being interested.

However, based on a report from Bolasport earlier this summer, Oxford United are potentially one of the clubs involved.

Time is running out for teams to come to an agreement over a transfer, with the market set to close next week.

Ipswich have had a busy summer window after gaining promotion, and the additions of Liam Delap and Sammie Szmodics could see Al-Hamadi fall down the pecking order of McKenna’s squad.

But he did become the first player from Iraq to feature in the division with his substitute appearance against the Reds at Portman Road last weekend.

Ali-Al Hamadi’s EFL experience

Ipswich signed Al-Hamadi last January from AFC Wimbledon, who were competing in League Two.

The forward bagged 23 goals from 42 appearances in the fourth tier with Wimbledon before making the switch to the Suffolk outfit.

He also previously competed in League One with Wycombe Wanderers, making nine appearances in the third tier before signing for the London club in 2023.

Ipswich have until 30 August to find a resolution to the situation over his future before the market shuts for the remainder of the calendar year.

Al-Hamadi could be a useful option for a Championship club

Al-Hamadi wasn’t able to earn consistent minutes for Ipswich last season, but he still managed four goals.

That’s a promising return, and it is possible he could be quite prolific at this level if given the proper game time.

Oxford United have since signed Dane Scarlett on loan from Tottenham, so Des Buckingham's side may no longer be interested in his arrival.

But Sunderland are one of the clubs looking to reinforce their attacking options this summer, so perhaps that could be a good fit for a loan move.
