The San Siro will be open at 50% capacity when Inter return from the international break for several key matches.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that stadiums in Italy are expected to be allowed to hold 50% capacity for spectators in February,
Stadium capacities in Italy have been limited to five thousand spectators per match for the past couple rounds of Serie A and the Coppa Italia due to the recent spike in COVID cases caused by the spread of the Omicron variant in Italy.
However, as the significant wave of cases looks to be on the wane as January comes to a close, these restrictions will be lifted and stadiums will return to being able to hold spectators at 50% capacity.
This will come as good news to Inter as well as other Italian sides, with the Nerazzurri playing against AC Milan in the derby as well as hosting Liverpool at San Siro, massive games from which they will want to maximize ticket revenue.
