International round-up: Hasegawa scores in Japan win over Portugal | OneFootball

City midfielder Yui Hasegawa was on target as Japan beat Portugal 2-1 in a friendly in Guimaraes.

After falling behind to Ana Capeta’s 25th minute opener, Hasegawa pulled Japan level 10 minutes later.

Mini Tanaka scored a second half winner as Japan build up for this summer’s World Cup, with another game against Denmark on Tuesday 11 April.

The Danes won 1-0 away to Sweden in their friendly thanks to a 93rd-minute winner from Stine Larsen, with City’s Filippa Angeldahl featuring as a second half sub for the home side.

World Cup hosts Australia were beaten 1-0 by Scotland in a friendly at Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium.

City duo Hayley Raso and Mary Fowler both went close to scoring for the Matildas but Nicola Docherty scored the only goal shortly after the break.

Australia next face England in a friendly at Brentford on Tuesday night.
