The final day of September's international break saw six Juventus players take to the pitch with their respective national sides, with a certain clash pitting two new Bianconeri against each other.

SOUTH AMERICAN WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS

There was an important victory for Juan Cabal's Colombia - who entered the pitch in the final minutes of his side's 2-1 win over Argentina - with Nico Gonzales registering his name on the scoresheet for the Albiceleste, who were ultimately undone by a James Rodriguez penalty. It was a victory that allowed Colombia (still unbeaten with four wins and four draws) to move closer to first place in the World Cup qualifying table, currently occupied by Argentina.

Brazil, on the other hand, are now even further back in the standings with 10 points as they suffered their fourth defeat in their first eight qualifying matches, going down 1-0 to Paraguay in Asuncion. Diego Gomez's goal in the first half was decisive, with Juve's Danilo playing the full 90 minutes for the Selecao.

EURO UNDER-21 QUALIFIERS

There was a handful of minutes on the pitch in the final minutes of Italy Under-21's victory for Nicolo Savona, in a match dominated by the Azzurrini in Stavanger against Norway, thanks to a super hat-trick from Tommaso Baldanzi who helped the Italians to a 3-0 win. The same fate also befell Jonas Rohui - called into action in the last quarter of an hour for Sweden U-21 - in an encounter which ended 0-0 against Moldova U-21.

Finally, Samuel Mbangula continued his fine club form for his country, starting Belgium's U-21 European Championship qualifier against Kazakhstan. He played 63 minutes in his side's comfortable 3-0 victory to add three valuable points to their qualifying campaign.
