At 20:45 CET on Sunday 17 March, Inter will face Napoli at San Siro on matchday 29 in Serie A. The teams are set to meet for the third time this campaign after their encounters in the league and Supercoppa final, both of which the Nerazzurri won.
Inter and Napoli have played each other 155 times in Serie A: the Nerazzurri have 70 wins to their name compared to the Azzurri's 47, with 38 draws completing the picture. Inter have won each of their last five home matches against Napoli in the Italian top flight and kept seven clean sheets in their last ten encounters with the Partenopei at San Siro.
Furthermore, the Nerazzurri have found the net in each of their last eleven Serie A games against Napoli; they've never scored in more consecutive matches against the Azzurri in the competition.
A fact that highlights the extraordinary strength of Simone Inzaghi's side: Inter have won ten games in a row in Serie A. The Nerazzurri have also scored in every single one of their 28 league matches this season. Inter have found the net 70 times and conceded just 13, meaning they comfortably have the best goal difference across the top five European divisions (+57, followed by Bayer Leverkusen with +47).
Lautaro Martínez is one of four players to have scored more than 20 goals across the top five European divisions in 2023/24. The Nerazzurri captain has become the third player in the last 50 years to bag at least 23 times in Inter's opening 28 matches of a single Serie A campaign, after Christian Vieri and Mauro Icardi.
Federico Dimarco continues to make a brilliant contribution in attack for Simone Inzaghi's side. The Nerazzurri No.32 has set up a teammate to score in two of his last three Serie A appearances against Napoli; in general, against no other opponent has he registered more assists in the competition. This campaign, the Inter wing-back has ten goal contributions to his name thanks to his tally of four goals and six assists. In the last 20 Serie A seasons, only three defenders have done better in Nerazzurri colours in a single edition of the competition: Maicon, Yuto Nagatomo and Achraf Hakimi.
Charisma and reliability. Yann Sommer has become one of the team's leaders thanks to his performances between the sticks. The Swiss shot-stopper has kept 17 clean sheets this Serie A campaign, a personal record playing for a team in one of the top five European divisions. Furthermore, he's equalled the clean sheet record for an Inter goalkeeper in a single league campaign in the three-points-per-win era, one which was previously established by Julio César and Samir Handanovic.
Federico La Penna will take charge of Inter vs. Napoli on matchday 29 of the 2023/24 Serie A season. Berti and Perrotti will be his assistants, while Feliciani will perform the role of fourth official. Di Paolo, assisted by Valeri, will oversee VAR.
Inter vs. Napoli will take place at 20:45 CET on Sunday 17 March and be broadcast exclusively live on DAZN in Italy. You can watch the game on the DAZN app on a smart TV or via livestream on mobile devices, such as PC, smartphone and tablet.
