Inter Milan and Napoli played out an intense 1-1 Serie A draw to end the weekend.

Neither the Nerazzurri nor the Partenopei were able to take three points in the end.

And then Inter responded late in the first half, through a long-range Hakan Calhanoglu effort.

In the second half, Inter had a penalty. However, the normally impeccable Calhanoglu failed to score a second from the spot.

Therefore, the two sides split the points. This has made the top end of the Serie A table look very crowded heading into the international break.

All of Atalanta, Fiorentina, Lazio, and Juventus had caught up during the weekend.

As football stats account Opta observed in a tweet, Calhanoglu set a personal record with his first half goal.

They tweeted, “Hakan Çalhanoglu has scored two goals from outside the box in #SerieA for Inter (two) against Napoli, more than against any other team in the top-flight – the previous one in December 2023 at Maradona. Strike.”
