A report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport has suggested that Inter payed a compensation fee of €1 million for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The report details how the 33-year-old Chilean is finally set to head to the Lombardy capital tonight, ahead of his medical exams with the Nerazzurri tomorrow.

In Spain reports suggest that the Milanese club paid the Blaugrana €1 million in compensation for the former Bayern Munich and Juventus midfielder, similar to how Sevilla paid a small fee for Ivan Rakitic.

Inter suggest that the deal was finalised without the payment, the report continues, but regardless the player will still be signing for the Nerazzurri in the coming hours.

Coach Antonio Conte has wanted Vidal since he arrived in Milan a year ago and will finally get his man, with the duo fondly remembering their time together in Turin years ago.

The player could feature against Fiorentina next weekend, but is unlikely to start.
