Inter Milan's Federico Dimarco scored one of the best free-kicks you will ever see against Sampdoria on Sunday.

The Italian full-back spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Hellas Verona, where he saw plenty of game time and really developed as a footballer.

He's now back at boyhood club Inter and making his mark in the first-team.

Dimarco was handed a start by manager Simone Inzaghi for the trip to Sampdoria and he repaid his faith in just 18 minutes.

The 23-year-old lined up a free-kick from close to the edge of the penalty area and then produced the most ridiculously accurate shot that flew past a helpless Emil Audero in the home side's goal.

Dimarco's powerful effort nearly ripped the net and it's virtually impossible for a goal to warrant the description 'top bins' more than the defender's masterpiece.

Take a look at the strike in all of its glory here...

We're struggling to think of a free-kick in recent times that is more aesthetically-pleasing than that. Honestly, hang that footage in The Louvre.

Amazingly, Dimarco's magnificent strike was the first time an Inter player has scored with a direct free-kick in Serie A action since Mario Balotelli way back in February 2009.

Football Italia reported that Dimarco's unstoppable shot was clocked at a speed of 106km/h.

That's just absurd.

Fan reaction

Sampdoria actually levelled the scores at 1-1 just after the half hour mark through former Southampton defender Maya Yoshida.

However, Inter's main man up top Lautaro Martinez made sure that the Italian champions went in at the break 2-1 ahead with yet another well-taken goal.

Sampdoria hit back in the second half through Tommaso Augello, though, meaning the points were shared.
