Young Inter Milan striker Eddie Salcedo is getting close to a loan to Segunda Division side Eldense.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, who report that the 21-year-old is on the verge of joining the team in the Spanish second division on a season-long loan deal containing a purchase obligation.
Inter have had a decision to make about the future of Italy under-21 international Salcedo this summer.
The young striker’s current contract with the Nerazzurri runs out at the end of next June.
Therefore, Inter’s options are to either sell the player permanently, extend his contract and then loan him out for another season, or else risk losing him for nothing in twelve months’ time.
For the past few seasons, Salcedo has gone on several loan spells.
During the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, the young Italian striker was on loan at Hellas Verona. Playing for the Gialloblu, Salcedo developed a fair bit under coach Ivan Juric.
Then, in the summer of 2021, he made the switch to join Spezia on loan.
During the following season in Liguria, Salcedo found playing time difficult to come by. The fact that Spezia were fighting off relegation and largely relied on experienced and proven players certainly didn’t help his cause.
Last summer, Salcedo joined Bari on loan in Serie B.
There, he spent the first half of the season.
However, in the January transfer window, Salcedo made the switch to his former club Genoa.
It had been the Grifone who had sold Salcedo to Inter in the first place.
The young striker helped the Ligurians achieve promotion to Serie A, bouncing straight back after a season in the second division.
Now, SportItalia report, Inter are on the verge of loaning Salcedo out to Spanish side Eldense.
The Spaniards will also have an option to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.
