He joined the club’s youth ranks at a tender age and has been a part of the first team since 2012 and now acts as club captain.

However, the Spaniard’s story with his beloved club is apparently in its final chapter, as many expect him to leave once his contract expires in June.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Inter could be tempted to sign Nacho on a free transfer.

As the source mentions, the Nerazzurri had already tried their luck last summer. But ultimately, the defender signed a one-year extension with Real Madrid.

Nevertheless, the outcome could be different this time with Nacho looking increasingly likely to leave.

The pink newspaper claims the veteran has already rejected an approach from Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.

The defender could either move to Major League Soccer or remain in Europe.

Moreover, the report reveals that Inter defender Stefan de Vrij could ponder a return to the Netherlands through the gates of PSV Eindhoven.

In this case, the Italian champions would become even more determined to sign Nacho who would arrive as a replacement for the Dutchman.

The Real Madrid captain would add invaluable experience to Simone Inzaghi’s backline, especially in Europe.

Nacho is one of the most decorated players of his generation. He won five Champions League trophies and as many Club World Cups. He also boasts four La Liga medals among other various honors.

The Spaniard has made 42 appearances across all competitions this season, contributing with a single assist.
