Inter are closing in on the signing of Pavard.

The 27-year-old is the player who the Nerazzurri have identified to replace Milan Skriniar in defense.

Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta made no effort to hide the fact. And coach Simone Inzaghi has also admitted that he wants the Frenchman in his squad by the end of the summer transfer window.

Inter have been pushing in talks through the past few days.

They have continued to push their offer up, and hoped that the player’s insistence would make the difference.

And now, it’s a done deal. Inter and Bayern have reached a full agreement on a deal for Pavard.

The Nerazzurri will pay a fee of €30 million for the Frenchman. In addition, there are €2 million in potential add-ons.

Now all that remains is for Pavard to undergo his medicals and sign his contract with Inter.

For that to happen, the Nerazzurri will still need the final approval from Bayern.

There is no question of the agreement between the two clubs. Inter and Bayern have completed the negotiations as far as the fee and every other aspect of the transfer.

And Pavard has already agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri on a five-year contract.

However, the Bavarians have yet to give the decisive go-ahead on the move.

Bayern’s holdup concerns securing a replacement for Pavard.

The German champions are reportedly now after 21-year-old Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap to replace the Frenchman.

In any event, Sky report that the phone call has not yet arrived. But, the broadcaster anticipates, Inter are expecting it any time now.

The Nerazzurri could aim to bring Pavard in time to start against Cagliari in Serie A on Monday.

With the fitness of defensive duo Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian a doubt, he could be a vital reinforcement right away.
