Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram will be fit for Tuesday’s EURO 2024 semifinal between France and Spain.
This according to French outlet L’Equipe, via FCInterNews. The outlet report that despite the 26-year-old sustaining a blow to his thigh, there is now serious injury.
Thuram started all three of France’s matches in the group stage of EURO 2024. He also played from the first minute in the round of sixteen win over Belgium
However, the Inter striker dropped out of the starting eleven for the quarterfinal match against Portugal.
Thuram did, however, come onto the pitch towards the end of the ninety minutes, playing the entirety of the extra time period.
Thuram came on for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani. The former Eintracht Frankfurt man was the player who had in fact replaced him in the starting eleven.
So far at the Euros, Thuram has failed to score or assist a goal.
The Nerazzurri striker has not yet managed to find the same kind of form in Didier Deschamps’s system that he had done in his first season at Inter leading the line in Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation.
According to L’Equipe, Thuram suffered a blow to his hamstring during Friday’s match against Portugal.
And that had even led to some worries regarding whether or not the Inter striker would be available for France’s next match.
Les Bleus take on Spain in the semifinals of the Euros on Tuesday. Spain progressed to that round of the competition by beating Germany.
Today, L’Equipe report, Thuram underwent tests with the France medical staff.
But it was a sigh of relief as far as the 26-year-old’s fitness is concerned. There was no serious injury and he should be able to return to training.
Therefore, Thuram will be by all accounts available for selection against Spain.
