Inter have already done quite a bit in the transfer market this summer.

The Nerazzurri have already secured the signings of Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi on free transfers.

Meanwhile, Josep Martinez is reportedly on the verge of joining Inter from Genoa.

And then there is the contract extension of midfielder Nicolo Barella. Inter have tied the 27-year-old down on a new deal until the end of June 2027.

However, Barella is far from the only player who Inter want to see sign a new deal.

There are also the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries. As well as coach Simone Inzaghi.

Ausilio: “Inzaghi Will Extend Contract, Dumfries Wants To Stay”

Regarding Inzaghi’s future, Ausilio said that “I’ve already met with the coach.”

“[A contract extension for Inzaghi] is close. I know it.”

“Things have went well,” Ausilio has said of contract negotiations with the coach. “We talked about a lot of things – the team, preseason, everything a Sporting Director and coach talk about.”

“He’ll extend his contract. Whether it’s in a week, twenty days, a month. He’ll extend, just like last season, and hopefully with the same results.”

Meanwhile, of Denzel Dumfries – who has said that he wants to stay – Ausilio said that “There’s truth to what he said.”

“Both we and he want to find an agreement on a new deal.”

“His current contract expires in 2025. The idea would be to extend it with improved terms. To find a solution that works for everyone.”

“Sometimes he gets underrated,” Ausilio said of Dumfries.

“He’s made a great contribution to Inter, and he has always accepted the coach’s decisions with great professionalism.”

And Ausilio also noted that in the transfer window, “Right up until the end, you never know if something unexpected could happen.”

“We have two players per position,” he added. “So we’re fully covered.”

“We also have players coming back from loan who are not part of the project.”

“With Taremi and Zielinski we’ll be even more competitive,” said Ausilio.
