Inter and Juventus are both keen to sign highly-rated young Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini, although the 19-year-old is also a target for a number of top clubs in the Premier League.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the teenager is very much a major target for both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri in the upcoming summer transfer window even if his price tag would be a major sticking point.

Scalvini’s outstanding performances for Atalanta this season have seen him emerge as a player with no shortage of suitors for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old has been described as a “dream signing” for the Nerazzurri in defense along with Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard.

The fact that Milan Skriniar is set to leave on a free transfer when his contract runs out at the end of June, whilst the futures of Stefan de Vrij, Francesco Acerbi, Danilo D’Ambrosio, and even Alessandro Bastoni uncertain.

Given that Scalvini will certainly command a hefty price tag amid links to the Premier League’s richest clubs, it could be the case that the Nerazzurri will only be able to move for the 19-year-old if they were to sell Bastoni.

However, if Bastoni were to be on his way, then the Atalanta defender would reportedly be their top target as a like-for-like replacement.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the Nerazzurri could try to meet part of La Dea’s €35 million valuation for Scalvini by offering midfielder Giovanni Fabbian as part of a cash-plus-player offer.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are also very keen on signing Scalvini this summer.

The Bianconeri are plotting a rebuild of their squad around young Italian talent, having already seen the likes of Nicolo Fagioli and Fabio Miretti emerge as first-team players this season.
