Inter Milan In Pole Position To Sign Torino & Italy Star – But AC Milan Eyeing A Swoop | OneFootball

Inter Milan are the team in pole position to sign Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno, but face competition from AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

This summer, Torino defender Buongiorno will certainly be one of the hot names on the market in Serie A.

The Italian international has been one of the outstanding defenders in the Italian top flight this season.

Moreover, Buongiorno’s age also makes the player an obvious targets for the big clubs.

Buongiorno could very easily play for a decade at the level he currently is.

Therefore, it is not too surprising to see the likes of Inter, AC Milan, and Juventus keen on the 24-year-old’s signature.

Buongiorno had already been on the radar of Serie A side Atalanta last summer.

The Italian resisted La Dea’s interest to stay at Torino. However, he may not be far away from a summer move.

Inter In Pole Position For Alessandro Buongiorno – But Face AC Milan Competition

According to Tuttosport, it would be quite possible that Buongiorno stays at Torino.

The 24-year-old is happy at his boyhood club. He will not force his way out this summer.

But the sense is that, while last summer Buongiorno wanted to stick around as he was not ready for a big move, the time has now come for him to take the next step.

Buongiorno would like to play for a club in the Champions League, Tuttosport reports.

And Inter would be the preferred destination for the Italian international.

The Nerazzurri, for their part, would certainly see Buongiorno as a top target in defense.

But the stumbling block would certainly be the price. Torino reportedly want no less than €45 million for Buongiorno.

In order to make such a deal financially feasible, Inter would likely have to make it an initial loan deal containing a purchase obligation that meets Torino’s demands.

And the Granata are not overly keen on an arrangement of this nature.

Therefore, the door is certainly open to other big clubs in Serie A – and abroad.

Tuttosport report that Milan are the team most poised to take advantage if Inter do not sign Buongiorno.

The Rossoneri had in fact already made an attempt – unsuccessfully – to sign the Italian international in January.

And then, there would be Napoli, also trying to enter the race to sign Buongiorno.

Lastly, Tuttosport report, Juventus are also very keen on signing the 24-year-old.

There have been contacts between the Bianconeri and Buongiorno’s representatives. However, on the player’s side he has made clear that he is not keen on a move across the city divide to Torino’s derby rivals.
