Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi expressed his pride after watching his team dismantle Salernitana at San Siro.

The Nerazzurri launched an onslaught on Guillermo Ochoa’s goal from the get-go. They eventually found the breakthrough in the 17th minute courtesy of Marcus Thuram.

Lautaro Martinez doubled the lead a couple of minutes later, while Denzel Dumfries added the third late in the first half.

Marko Arnautovic came off the bench to score with the very last kick of the match, making it 4-0.

Inzaghi was certainly happy with the display, urging his players to remain sharp and focused.

“We have had an excellent journey, a perfect 2024. But it is a journey that must lead us to stay focused and on track in the last few months of the season,” said the manager in his post-match press conference via FcInterNews.

“In the last 50 days, we have always been playing, preparing the matches in the best possible way.

“Every season has its own story. Last term, there was a very long break during the World Cup. This year we didn’t stop.

“The team is doing well, working, training in the best way with the right approach. Beyond this, there is a great spirit that can be seen on the pitch, but there is still a long road ahead of us.”

Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi Proud Of His Team’s Dominant Displays

Inzaghi finally gave Tajon Buchanan his club debut in the last 13 minutes. He insists that he’s satisfied with the Canadian’s work.

“Buchanan is a lad who works very well. He can cover the two flanks without problems.

“Tonight he came in on the left, I’m content with his work. He must continue to learn our principles. He will have to improve his Italian but we are happy with him.”

The Nerazzurri boss felt proud while watching his team perform at a high level.

“We have to continue on this path. The players have great desire and follow me and the staff as best as possible.

“Watching this team perform like this fills me with great pride. But the road remains a long one.”

Finally, Inzaghi explained why he only opted for a limited rotation tonight while maintaining most of the starting lineup even with the Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid around the corner.

“My staff and I reflected on the matter. We felt that the squad recovered well after the trip to Rome.

“I changed three players. I could have made more changes. The team worked well during the week, so I was calm and confident.”
